Therapeutic Behavior Consultation- Virginia Medicaid DD Waiver (CL & FIS Waiver)
Completely covered through the Virginia DD Waiver (FIS and CL types).
Old Town ABA has provided this service to over 250 people in since opening in 2021.
Therapeutic behavior consultation is In-Person and Telehealth (Hybrid), or Telehealth only by request for any county in Virginia.
A behavior consultant is a Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA) will extensive training in Applied Behavior Analysis and experience providing ABA Therapy. After extensive assessment on the function of behavior, A behavior support plan (BSP) is designed expertly and written by the BCBA. A comprehensive summary of the individual, our assessment findings, hypothesized functions of the behaviors, prevention strategies, environmental modifications, reactive protocols, behavior reduction and skill acquisition goals are included. Our expert behavior consultant provides guidance, training, and treatment plan development for the individuals ISP outcomes. Consultation occurs amongst all service providers, including any parents and caregivers, and the client in a hybrid mix; we will see you virtually and in-person.
We design the plan for stakeholders to implement, and design all materials in order to track data and implement the program's strategies.
Old Town ABA focuses on trauma informed care and designs a treatment dynamic which focuses on a happy, healthy therapeutic relationship.
A behavior analyst consulting with the team is ongoing; and data is continuously taken and analyzed, the individual is supported in any changes in behavior or other changes in their life. The behavior analyst is the trainer and expert contact for the individuals on the service team to implement, whether that is the parents/guardians, day program, group home, place of employment, etc. Behavioral consultation is effective and our well trained BCBAs/licensed behavior analysts can help and support many individuals with this service, especially with the Telehealth modality as an allowable component.
Authorization for Therapeutic Consultation also allows the behavior consultant to assess the individual for assistive technology and environmental modifications, and individual's may get coverage under the waiver for recommended products. You may tap into DD Waiver funding with our recommendations per the BSP.

Public School FBA & IEE- Frederick and Loudoun Counties
Serving Local Counties: Currently-Frederick County, VA and Loudoun County, VA
FUNCTIONAL BEHAVIOR ASSESSMENT (FBA) & INDEPENDENT EDUCATION EVALUATION (IEE) in Frederick and Loudoun County
Our team of highly skilled and experienced Board-Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) are available to conduct FBAs in your school. If parents are concerned with their child’s behavior at school, then they should request that the school conduct an FBA. If the school conducts an FBA and parents disagree with the findings, then parents are able to request an IEE to be conducted by an outside evaluator at the expense of the school. Request to work with Old Town ABA via Frederick County Public Schools and/or Loudoun County Public Schools to receive an IEE.
Our FBAs include
- Parent and/or teacher interview
- Full FBA Evaluation and summary
- Motivation Assessment Scale (MAS) or Functional Assessment Screening Tool (FAST), QABF
- 3-6 hours of observations
- Data analysis and review
- Detailed behavioral report including recommendations for treatment
