Rachel Evans, M.Ed, BCBA, LBA, is a highly experienced behavior analyst based in the Shenandoah Valley/Winchester area, with roots in Northern Virginia. With over nine years of experience in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Rachel specializes in providing behavioral services for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Rachel’s passion for supporting the Autism community is deeply personal, inspired by her younger brother, an adult with Autism. This connection gives her unique insight into the familial challenges and home dynamics of individuals with special needs. Her mission is to help individuals with disabilities feel accepted, achieve happiness, and develop the skills necessary to thrive in their environments.
She holds certifications as a Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) through the Virginia Board of Medicine and as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). Rachel earned her Master’s Degree in Special Education from George Mason University in 2017, along with a graduate certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Studio Art from Virginia Wesleyan University.
Rachel is certified in BLS/First Aid/CPR and Safety-Care crisis management, further ensuring the highest standards of care and safety. Her extensive experience includes:
- Conducting Functional Behavior Assessments and developing Behavior Intervention Plans.
- Delivering 1:1 direct services.
- Providing therapeutic consultation under the Virginia Medicaid Waiver.
- Supporting individuals aged 2-60 across private schools, community settings, and home environments.
- Collaborating with parents, public and private school systems, and multidisciplinary teams, including speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, and neuropsychologists.
- Serving individuals with dual diagnoses such as ADHD, Down Syndrome, Fragile X, Angelman’s Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, and individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Developing American Sign Language (ASL)-focused programming.
As a mentor and leader in the field, Rachel trains and supervises aspiring behavior analysts, including BCBA, BCaBA, and RBT candidates, maintaining a 100% pass rate for BCBA candidates. Her expertise also extends to coaching and mentoring professionals in behavioral business practices and supporting adults in day programs and group homes.
Rachel’s commitment to ethical and evidence-based practices in ABA ensures exceptional care for clients and families while fostering professional excellence within her team and the field at large.
